Filter in the airbox bottom. The bike revs very fast now and runs better than it did before the mod. How much of that was due to a dirty filter I don't know but I'm pretty happy with the engine performance. Gas mileage seems down but I attibute that to my riding being almost all sport riding on a very twisty Highway 1 with a mountain climb at the end of the ride (2400 feet over Mt. Tam). Since doing the new filter I have a hard time staying below 5-6000 RPM, the bikes revs much more freely.
