Ah, yes, my furry seat. Comfy-ville USA.
I will pre-add this addendum (pre-dum?)
Anyway, while taking the pictures that follow I ended up with the seat cover off the bike and thought, "I haven't ridden it without the cover for a while, let's give it a try".
And of course lowering my 215 pounds of riding weight 1 inch or so (me, leathers, etc.) makes the bike handle better. On my Norton Commandos I could feel the difference between .010 clearance on the isolastics and .006 so it only seems right that I feel (and prefer) the ride when the center of gravity is lowered whatever small percentage from removing the comfy chair (oh, no, not the Spanish Inquisition -[anybody get that one?]).
But since I feel absolutely nothing via my ass when using the sheepskin/gel system and do get the road impulses/vibrations without it I could tell I was a bit tired after the ride. Had more fun riding, was more tired. Just what you might expect, as there is no free lunch.
So for now, it'll be less comfy for short trips (under 100 miles) and the Spanish Inquisition for the plus 100 mile excursions.
Just to make it confusing, the comments following were written prior to that above.
